The background image on this advert for the Vaccines is a pink water mark image, that is also on the front of their digipak. Therefore this is a typical convention as having the image that's also on the album on the advert too, means that the audience will recognise the image when they see and also shows they are a well known band as they haven't used images of themselves. The image is of a woman, as this is an image well known for the band, therefore this is a trait for the band that is recognised by their target audience. To the left hand corner there is also the same image but a lot smaller, however this image is a lot more clearer and doesn't have a pink edit on it. Consequently, due to this image being well known for their band it will then be used to sell their merchandise etc. Due to the back ground colours being white and pink this allows the text on the advert to stand out.
The layout of the advert is very simplistic; which is expected as the genre of the Vaccines music is indie/rock. Also this means the audience can easily see the important text on the advert as the most important will be seen first such as: the artists name, name of album, the fact that they have 4 star ratings from 'Q' 'Uncut' and 'Mojo' and also the date that the album will be released. Therefore, this will instantly make the bands target audience want to buy their album due to the ratings. The bands target audience would be older teenagers (16-20), that enjoy indie/rock music.
The font used on the album cover is also very simple and is black which makes it stand out against the pale background, making it easy to read for the audience as at just a glance it is easy to read. The font that has been used on the advert is also used on the album that the Vaccines is releasing, therefore this will make the font familiar to the audience and bring to mind the Vaccines when they see it.
The advert also expresses the bands genre, this is due to the reviews by the magazines that are mentioned that are all indie/rock magazines. All the reviews are 4 stars; which makes it clear that the music will defiantly appeal to its target audience, as a lot of their audiences will read these magazines as the magazine names are well known, this means the audience will trust their review. Consequently, this means that people that are unfamiliar to the band that enjoy the genre of music they create may want to start listening to their music. This creates a wider fan base for the band.
