Catfish and The Bottlemen Digipak Analysis

On the album front cover has the album name 'The balcony' and the band name placed to the left in small white, simple font writing , therefore this firstly establishes the band and album name. The writing is white against a black background which helps it stand out. Due to the genre of the band being indie simplicity and uniqueness are usually the connotations known for this genres digipaks, therefore this digipak fulfill's this. There is also a symbol in the far left corner that says 'parental advisory' therefore this states that the album should only be listened to by those of an appropriate age; which is needed for the album to sell well. The image on the front cover is memorable as many of the bands merchandise uses this logo, as well as it being used for a promotional tool, due to the comical nature of it. This makes it appeal to the target audience which is around 17-25. It is simple, which also could appeal to the audience.

The inside of the digipak contains a CD, the print of the CD continues the with the theme of the band and also uses the same image\logo. The simplicity of this could be due to the funding of the band as they were relatively small at the time of the release, also due to them being an indie band it also follows the connotations of being simple and unique.

The back cover to the digipak is also very simplistic, as the same colour theme is continued. The track list on the back is in white against a black background. The track list doesn't follow a numeric order, however it is placed in the centre of the back cover with the track list going down wards making it easy to tell what song comes after another. Also like every other digipak the bar code is also present on the back.
